Nice atmosphere, not crowded. Room nice and clean, no wash clothes though. Food was decent, but staff was super friendly and helpful. Beach area was nice but couldn't walk much without being bothered by the locals trying to sell. That got annoying. If you stay in your area then it's ok. Overall would recommend.

Pros: I hate to say it's a great place "for the price". It's a really nice place, that also happens to be inexpensive.
Location: Typical cruise ship excursions avb. our 2 excursions combined for 5 tourist trap souvenir stops
after seeing some of the negative reviews, i was so nervous about this place I almost cancelled. I am glad i didn't. I'll address some of the specific things I saw in other reviews that were concerns to me. Staff stealing from rooms: Safe was only $10 for the whole stay. used that, and had no issue. Cleanliness: our room was great. Common areas and pool were nice. A/C: It seems like the only place in the resort with A/C is your room. I did have trouble with my first room. These things happen sometimes, but the staff was very accommodating. -first room was just ok during the day but too stufyf at night -front desk sent repair guy, he did things and said to call in 20min if it's not good -It wasn't -They sent someone to show us to a different room. They made it clear this room was just for the night, we were even able to leave our stuff and keep keys to first room. That was really nice so we didn't have to pack everything back up in the middle of the night -Next day checked how it felt in first room. still not great -Spoke to front desk, and they said it was fixed. When I said it wasn't, they didn't press the issue. They said to give them 30 mins to figure out a room -Next room was great. Language: Some of the front desk staff spoke fast with thick accent, some were better. The rest of staff didn't speak english. Paying Twice: On checkin they asked for a voucher and I was nervous this might happen, but when I said Expedia everything went smoothly.

The room slide door was broke. They offered no washclothes to the guess. The phone didn't work, we had to walk to the front desk when we needed something. Housekeeping came once during our stay.I would not stay there again.

Pros: Grounds and Beach
Cons: Food - Beds and cleanliness of the main pool
The grounds were beautiful and the beach was nice, but the food was horrible. The main pool had a lot of bugs, hair, band aids and was not the cleanest. Also, there were set times to eat and room service is unavailable. The sports bar served hamburger hotdogs occasional pizza and the food was gross. The buffet food was also horrible. Stale bread and pasta. Fruit was not edible at times. The beds were very uncomfortable as well.

Beach and grounds were beautiful. The food was horrible and the beds were very uncomfortable. The main pool was not very clean and appeared very dirty at times

Huge disappointment

Room was not ready when we arrived, requested coffee pot several times since the one in room had grounds stuck inside, beds were rock hard, mosquitos in room, room cards would deactivate daily.

Pros: At the resort, the only things that we liked were the beach and volleyball court. Our off-site excursion to Juanillo was the best thing overall.
Cons: Everything that I've already mentioned.
Location: Do an excursion, don't get ripped off. Negotiate everything, and the price will drop instantly. If you do book one, work with Manolo. He's awesome.
1 - Check-in Upon checking in, our rooms were in separate buildings, which is not how we booked back in November of 2016. They were now "fully booked" and could not accommodate us. The woman that "helped" us was rude and looked annoyed that we were actually making her work. After 30 minutes, they were able to move us to our original rooms, or so we thought. 2 - Rooms The "Sea View" room description stated that we would get 2 Queen Beds, free wifi, fully stocked bar, air conditioning, daily room cleaning, etc. We got none of that. Each room had 1 King Bed, 1 uncomfortable couch bed, non-working wifi (both free & paid), 2 bottles of water, air conditioning that blew heat, and our rooms were only cleaned 3 times, and not until almost 5:00 pm. The bathroom always flooded because of poor shower design. Despite multiple calls and visits to the front desk, the situation never improved. 3 - Food & Drink The main buffet was open at set times. If you missed it, too bad. The restaurants work on a reservation basis, if they were booked for that day, too bad. If you missed these, you have to wait until the next day to eat. When we did eat, the food was terrible. We ordered food and it came out wrong, they told us that we should've ordered in Spanish so it would come out right. There is no room service or vending machines at all. Also, no 24 hour bar, even though the front desk told us there was. Not all drinks were included. 4 - Other Rude staff, dirty pools, bugs in rooms, gross.

Regarding to your review, we would like to add the following: - Please accept our most sincere apologies for the unfortunate situation with your room allocation that made you felt uncomfortable during your holidays but the room allocation requests are always subject to availability. - all rooms in the hotel have two large beds in the rooms, only the JS which are the highest category of the hotel has a king bed and swim up room. -Our rooms are subject to daily revisions from our maintenance and housekeeping departments; however, there might be situations that can arise during our guests stay. We deeply regret your room was supposedly affected by some maintenance or housekeeping issues and as a result you may have obtained a negative impression of our services. Rooms are cleaned daily from 9am till 5pm. In addition, under request, this service can be provided after 5pm. -According to the Sport Bar, please note that there are always along the service (10am-12am) salads, vegetables, pizzas, hot dogs, burgers, show coking grill, fruits, ice cream, sweets, coffee, soft drinks, beers and some other products. So all our guests can enjoy a fresh and healthy selection of products. We do hope you will give us another opportunity by returning back to experience our true level of service.
